Đúng 20h (giờ địa phương), đêm chung kết cuộc thi nhan sắc lớn nhất thế giới mở màn tại nhà hát Vương miện ở Tam Á, Trung Quốc, trong tiếng reo hò vang dội của hàng nghìn khán giả theo dõi trực tiếp. Dẫn chương trình là MC quen thuộc của các cuộc thi Hoa hậu Thế giới Angela Chow.

Danh sách thí sinh vào bán kết đã được công bố trong đêm chung kết đang diễn ra tối 30/10 tại nhà hát Vương miện ở Tam Á, Trung Quốc. Đại diện VN dừng bước ở vòng ngoài.
Sau màn múa với vũ điệu Latin và một điệu múa truyền thống Trung Hoa, khán giả hồi hộp chờ đợi những bất ngờ tiếp theo của đêm chung kết, nhất là việc công bố danh sách bán kết Top 25 người đẹp của cuộc thi.

Sau đó, Hoa hậu Thế giới 1953 - Denise Perrier Lanfranchi, Hoa hậu Thế giới 1964 - Ann Sidney, Hoa hậu Thế giới 1977 - Mary Stavin, Hoa hậu Thế giới 2004 - Maria Julia Mantilla, Hoa hậu Thế giới 2007 Trương Tử Lâm và Hoa hậu Thế giới 2008 - Ksenia Sukhinova xuất hiện trên sân khấu mở màn trong tiếng reo hò vang dội của khán giả tại nhà hát Crow Theatre của Tam Á.
Xuất hiện gần cuối đoàn người đẹp, đại diện Việt Nam Nguyễn Ngọc Kiều Khanh xuất hiện rạng rỡ trong bộ áo dạ hội màu nâu vàng. Cách trang điểm của cô cũng cho thấy sự đầu tư, chăm chút chứ không giản dị như mọi khi.

Những màn múa truyền thống đậm bản sắc văn hóa dân tộc Trung Quốc mở màn đêm thi cuối cùng của Miss World. Màn múa này dẫn bước cho 115 thí sinh khắp các châu lục sải bước ra sân khấu chào khán giả trong những bộ váy áo dạ hội lộng lẫy nhất. Đúng như sự hứa hẹn của ban tổ chức, trong đêm này, các người đẹp dường như lột xác hoàn toàn so với hình ảnh của họ từ đầu cuộc thi đến nay với sự chăm chút trong từng bộ trang phục.

Khi nghe MC xướng tên, 5 cô gái này đứng tách lên hàng trên với nụ cười tươi tắn và vẫy tay chào khán giả. Trên màn hình xuất hiện các video clip giới thiệu quá trình thi thố và đạt thành tích của các người đẹp.

115 thí sinh ra sân khấu trong trang phục truyền thống. Đại diện một số nước trình diễn điệu múa truyền thống của dân tộc mình.


5 người đẹp đầu tiên bước vào vòng bán kết là các thí sinh đã chiến thắng các vòng thi phụ trong suốt một tháng diễn ra Miss World gồm: Hoa hậu Thời trang Mariann Birkedal của Nauy, Hoa hậu Biển Yara Liz Lasanta Santiago của Puerto Rico, Hoa hậu Tài năng Emma Waldron của Ireland, Hoa hậu vì một mục đích cao cả Natasha Metto (Kenya) và Hoa hậu Thể thao Lori Moore của Bắc Ireland.
Nam ca sĩ Carlos Aponte trình diễn bày hát Time to say goodbye với tất cả sự sâu lắng và say đắm. Anh kết thúc bài hát trong tiếng vỗ tay vang dội của khán giả.

Trước đó, 20 người đẹp được xướng danh vào vòng bán kết cùng 5 người đẹp đoạt giải phụ trước đó gồm có: Đức, Italy, Trung Quốc, Bostwana, Canada, Nga, Columbia, Bahamas, Thái Lan, Nam Phi, Mông Cổ, Polynisea thuộc Pháp, Venezuela, Mỹ, Nambia, Pháp, Scotland, Hà Lan, St Lucia, Paraguay.
Sau màn trình diễn kèn saxophone của nghệ sĩ Dave Koz, top 7 người đẹp tiếp tục vào vòng trong được MC xướng lên gồm: Venezuela, Ireland, Trung Quốc, Italy, Mỹ, Nauy, Botswana.
Hoa hậu Mỹ là người tiếp theo được xướng vào Top 5. Cô thể hiện phần ứng xử rất ngắn gọn. Tiếp đó là người đẹp Ireland. Cô mở đầu câu chào khán giả bằng tiếng Hoa khiến khán phòng vỡ òa vì thích thú. Người đẹp Trung Quốc Tang Xiao là người cuối cùng vào top trong tiếng reo hò của khán giả nước chủ nhà. Tang Xiao không nói tiếng Trung Quốc mà đáp lời MC bằng vốn tiếng Anh lưu loát, trôi chảy.
Top 5 chung cuộc:Venezuela,USA,Bostwana,Ireland và Trung Quốc
Cách giới thiệu ứng viên vào top 5 của Miss World năm nay khá đặc biệt. Từ top 7 người đẹp, các người đẹp được xướng danh vào top lần lượt bước lên trước giới thiệu về bản thân họ và thể hiện tài ăn nói của mình. Venezuela giới thiệu ngắn gọn về bản thân cô và trả lời với sự tự tin, duyên dáng quen thuộc. Tiếp đó, người đẹp Botswana nói về quê hương của mình và trả lời câu hỏi. MC Angela Chow khen bài nói của Miss Botswana đầy cảm xúc.

Người đẹp 18 tuổi Alexandria Mills đến từ xứ sở cờ hoa đã giúp đất nước cô ghi tên vào bảng vàng Miss World 2010. Khi được xướng danh đăng quang ngôi Hoa hậu Thế giới, cô vỡ òa trong niềm vui.

Từ khi cuộc thi Miss World lần đầu tổ chức vào năm 1951, người Mỹ mới 2 lần đoạt danh hiệu sắc đẹp toàn cầu này vào năm 1973 và 1990. Với Alexandria Mills năm 2010, xứ sở cờ hoa hy vọng làm nên chuyện tại Miss World.
Năm nay 18 tuổi, Alexandria Mills cao 1,75 m và sở hữu vóc dáng thanh mảnh nhờ ăn chay và chăm luyện tập thể thao. Mills mang một vẻ đẹp vốn là niềm mơ ước theo tiêu chuẩn của các thiếu nữ Mỹ hiện nay. Khuôn mặt cân đối hài hòa, đôi mắt sáng, nước da rám nắng cùng thân hình chuẩn, khỏe khoắn khiến cô liên tục lọt vào "mắt xanh" của ban giám khảo các vòng thi phụ tại Miss World để nằm trong top 20 của 3 vòng: Hoa hậu Biển (đoạt danh hiệu Á hậu 1), Hoa hậu Thời trang (đoạt danh hiệu Á hậu 2).

Vừa tốt nghiệp phổ thông trung học và muốn trở thành giáo viên sau này, Mills vẫn theo đuổi ước mơ trở thành người mẫu chuyên nghiệp khi hoạt động cho công ty Elite Mỹ.

Á hậu 2 cuộc thi thuộc về người đẹp Venezuela góp phần nào giải tỏa "cơn khát" cho Venezuela tại đấu trường HHHTG và Á hậu 1 thuộc về người đẹp Botswana.
